SEO Spam, Affiliate Marketing Degrades Google Search Quality

Affiliate marketing’s growth and the presence of low-quality, potentially spammy content have negatively impacted Google Search, as noted by researchers from Leipzig University, Bauhaus-University Weimar, and the Center for Scalable Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence. In their study, the researchers examined 7,392 search queries related to product reviews across Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo over a year. Their aim was to comprehend how these platforms handle content artificially optimised to attain higher search result rankings and increased clicks.

According to internal company documents released, Meta suggests that approximately 100,000 children on Facebook and Instagram experience online sexual harassment daily, which includes receiving “pictures of adult genitalia”, the media has reported. The newly revealed document presents various accusations against the company, relying on information obtained by the New Mexico attorney general’s office from Meta employees’ presentations and staff communications. The records recount an episode from 2020 where the 12-year-old daughter of an Apple executive was approached through IG Direct, Instagram’s messaging platform.

Starlink To Get Approval To Launch Satellite-Powered Internet In India

Tech billionaire Elon Musk-owned aerospace company SpaceX is set to a regulatory go-ahead to roll out Starlink space broadband services in India, a report by ET Telecom said on Friday. The report added, citing sources, that Starlink will get a nod in the “next few days”, after a clarification by the company to the Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT) on shareholding pattern.
