Jellysmack has acquired Law&Crime, the true crime network of Dan Abrams, to expand its digital offerings and strengthen its growing YouTube portfolio in a hot genre. It plans to combine its AI tech and roster of creators with Law&Crime’s premium legal and true crime content.

Since then, the Law&Crime YouTube channel has earned 5 million subscribers and over 3 billion views, Jellysmack said. Law&Crime Productions has generated content for Hulu, Netflix, HBO, A+E, Discovery ID, Fox and other distributors. Its HBO docuseries Unveiled was nominated for an Emmy.
A well-known face and presence, the prolific Abrams also hosts SiriusXM’s The Dan Abrams Show: Where Politics Meets The Law and is host and exec producer of Court Cam and Under Oath on A&E Network. He was formerly the host of Live PD on A&E, an anchor Nightline, chief legal correspondent and analyst for NBC News and general manager of MSNBC. He started at Court TV.
Jellysmack identifies video creators and helps them develop brands across social platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok and YouTube, using proprietary data and video optimization technology to drive social audience growth and unlock revenue streams for creators, brands and IP owners. The company said that so far in 2023 it has “optimized and syndicated nearly 30K true crime videos across 182 creator partner’s pages and original channels, which collectively earned an astounding 11.2 billion views” across Facebook, Snapchat, Spotify and other platforms.
