Seo awarded $25,000 Biomedical Research Grant | News


Rogers State University Associate Professor Dr. Jin Seo was awarded a $25,000 analysis grant from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. The Oklahoma IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence Collaborate Grant program fosters analysis interactions between school and undergraduate establishments.

Faculty researchers acquire invaluable expertise in designing, conducting and reporting biomedical analysis, enhancing their skill to compete for extramural funding past the native stage. Seo’s analysis is titled “Regulator Mechanisms of Temperature-medicated Energy Homeostasis.”

“Dr. Seo’s analysis demonstrates the robust scholarly work RSU wishes from school,” Dr. Richard Beck, vp for educational affairs, mentioned.

Dr. Seo joined the RSU school in 2013. He earned his doctorate in microbiology from the University of Texas-Austin, a grasp’s diploma in genetic engineering from Seoul National University in South Korea, and a bachelor’s diploma in biochemistry from Yonsei University in Seoul. He was honored because the 2015 and 2016 recipient of RSU’s Pfizer Excellence in Scholarship/Research.

In 2019, unique analysis by Seo and RSU college students was revealed by PLOS One, a peer-reviewed open entry scientific journal revealed by the Public Library of Science.

RSU’s Department of Biology affords a bachelor’s diploma in biology with choices in medical/molecular biology and environmental conservation, in addition to an affiliate diploma in biology and a minor in biology. The medical/molecular diploma possibility has confirmed to be an efficient preparation for college kids pursuing medically associated skilled graduate applications. More than 150 RSU college students have been efficiently positioned in skilled graduate applications together with medication, dentistry, veterinary sciences, and extra.
