Project Y starring Han So-hee and Jeon Jong-seo will show two female friends from Seoul who plan to steal 8 billion worth of gold bars and flee from the town without any trace.
South Korean actresses Han So-hee and Jeon Jong-seo have been roped in for a new noir drama tentatively titled Project Y. This will be the first time that the two have joined hands for a series. Han So-hee is known for films and TV shows like Nevertheless, Gyeongseong Creature, Nevertheless, The World Of The Married, and 100 Days My Prince among others. Meanwhile, Jeon Jong-seo is noted for his performances in movies and shoes such as Burning, Ballerina, Call, Nothing Serious and Wedding Impossible.
According to a report by Soompi, Project Y’s cast announcement was finalised on Apil 29. The story will give viewers an insight into the lives of two female friends. Set against the backdrop of the Gangnam district in Seoul, Project Y will show the two friends embarking on a dangerous heist. They plan on robbing a hefty sum of 8 billion (Rs 800 crore) worth of gold bars. After several obstacles when their job is executed minus any error, Han So-hee and Jeon Jong-seo’s yet-to-be-revealed on-screen characters plan on vanishing from the town without any trace.
Both Han So-hee and Jeon Jong-seo are 29 years old, similar to the age shown in Project Y. The upcoming series is expected to be a nail-biting watch with a strong sense of friendship between the two female protagonists. Project Y is directed by Young Adult Matters and Park Hwa Young fame Lee Hwan. The director famously weaves dynamic elements and bold themes into his narratives, sparking discussions in the Korean entertainment industry, claims Soompi. Presumably, Lee Hwan might incorporate these factors in Project Y too.
Reportedly, Project Y will go on the floors in the second half of 2024. Further cast and trailer details are currently under tight wraps.
Speaking of Han So-hee, the actress was recently seen in the thriller series Gyeongseong Creature. The second part, announced in January, will be released sometime in the latter half of 2024. Gyeongseong Creature also starred actor Park Seo-joon. Meanwhile, Jeon Jong-seo’s last appearance was in director Kwon Young-il’s romantic comedy series Wedding Impossible. She shared screen space with actor Moon Sang-min.
