Mohali: A ‘tantrik’ (occultist) has been booked for allegedly raping a 17-year-old disabled girl belonging to a district in Haryana. The girl’s mother alleged that in the name of treating stress through exorcism, the man took her to his room and raped her.
On her complaint, the police registered a zero FIR and forwarded the same to Zirakpur. Fighting disability since childhood, the girl had been suffering from mental stress for about a year, her mother claimed.
They she got to know a ‘baba’, who “cured people by exorcism”. She went to him along with her husband and daughter. He called them again on March 13.
When they reached there, the disciples of the man asked the girl’s parents to wait outside. The mother alleged that the tantrik raped the girl in the room and threatened her of dire consequences of if she told anyone about the crime. The police said that they have received the zero FIR and are now searching for the ‘baba’.
