Ahn Hyo Seop’s lawyer claims that Han Seo Hee’s messages damaged his client’s reputation, as their private chat was shared in an open chat room.
Social media personality Han Seo Hee stirred controversy last month after sharing an alleged KakaoTalk conversation with Business Proposal actor Ahn Hyo Seop. Now, the situation has taken a legal turn as Ahn Hyo Seop has accused her of defamation and misusing the chat app. According to Money Control, a complaint was filed on February 7 with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, represented by lawyer Kim So-yeon from Will Law Firm.
The charges against Han Seo Hee include ‘violation of the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes’ and ‘violation of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection,’ among others. Ahn Hyo Seop’s lawyer claims that Han Seo Hee’s messages damaged his client’s reputation, as their private conversation was shared in an open chat room, which seemed like the two had been in a physical relationship.
According to the charges, the accuser claimed that Han Seo Hee initiated a discussion that included asking for sexual favours from Ahn Hyo Seop. When Hyo Seop’s response was delayed, Han Seo Hee reportedly issued a warning and asked him, “Do you want to die?” To this, Ahn Hyo Seop expressed discomfort with her tone, who then asked, “Why are you talking so scary?”.
As per the actor, Han Seo Hee allegedly sent explicit messages and used language that could cause sexual shame or disgust. According to the leaked chats, the delay in Ahn Hyo Seop’s response prompted Han Seo Hee to threaten him.
In a statement, Ahn Hyo Seop claimed, “She is a drug offender who has been punished several times for habitual drug use and she has caused controversy by using her friendships in the entertainment industry to get into frequent fights with famous celebrities and their fans.”
According to Ahn Hyo Seop, the conversation was shared in an open chat room, which numerous individuals saw. Surprisingly, on the same day as the alleged conversation leak, Han Seo Hee posted a picture of the Josun Palace hotel, where she allegedly invited the actor.
Earlier, as the situation escalated, Han Seo Hee said that the leaked conversation was ‘fabricated.’ She then took to Instagram to deny the allegations. However, she reportedly deleted her account and created a new one, as per All Kpop. After she made a new account, she received numerous follow-up requests, but Han Seo Hee urged people to stop sending her more follow-up requests and explained that she plans to make her account public soon but needs time to prepare.
