Digital Content Creator
FOX 13 Seattle is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Digital Content Creator to join our dynamic team. As a leading news organization, we strive to deliver engaging and impactful content to our audience across various digital platforms. In this role, your primary focus will be on video optimization and SEO strategies to enhance our online presence and ensure maximum reach.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Video Production and Optimization:
- Produce and curate high-quality videos for online platforms, including news stories, features, interviews, and promotional content.
- Edit and enhance videos using industry-standard software to produce visually appealing and engaging content.
- Manage video library and layout of multiple platforms including news website, mobile app, FOX LOCAL connected TV app, and YouTube.
- Optimize videos for search engines and social media platforms to maximize visibility and organic reach.
- Implement SEO best practices in video descriptions, titles, and tags to improve discoverability and drive traffic.
- Monitor video performance and engagement metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
2. SEO Strategy Development:
- Collaborate with the Digital Content team to develop and implement SEO strategies that align with our content goals.
- Conduct keyword research to identify relevant topics and optimize video content accordingly.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest SEO trends and algorithm changes to ensure our content remains competitive.
- Analyze SEO performance metrics and provide recommendations for improvement to increase organic traffic.
3. Local Journalism:
- Work closely with other newsroom journalists like assignment editors, reporters, producers and photographers to publish, copy edit and update articles, videos and social media posts.
- Collaborate with others to strategize the best platform for certain content (some stories might be great for digital media only, others should be the lead story on TV at 5pm)
- Follow the highest standards of journalistic integrity when publishing, sharing, reporting or developing news stories.
- Work with the FOX Television Stations’ group content team to coordinate coverage of national stories.
- Develop strategies to promote video content through email newsletters, partnerships, and other distribution channels.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience in video production, editing, and optimization.
- In-depth knowledge of video SEO best practices, including keyword research, metadata optimization, and video distribution.
- Familiarity with industry-standard video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar.
- Strong understanding of SEO principles and trends.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $70,000-80,000 annually for Washington. Weather Anchor
FOX 13 and FOX 13+ is seeking a full-time weather anchor/meteorologist to join our evening news team. The successful candidate must use weather data from several sources to interpret and then verbally and visually present current weather conditions and forecasts in a clear, concise, credible and interesting manner in newscasts and during live and taped reports. This position will be an evening shift, forecasting the weather in-studio on various weekday and weekend newscasts.
FOX 13 is looking for someone who is also eager to get out of the studio and report stories in the field related to weather, climate and the environment. This is a regular schedule with the understanding that the news industry is a 24/7 business and your schedule could change occasionally to accommodate breaking news, severe weather coverage, vacation relief or other staffing needs.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use station’s weather equipment, radar, and graphics effectively and creatively to produce and present weather information.
- Work effectively live in studio, on location or in taped settings.
- Be active on social media; engage viewers; promote stories in newscasts and on social media.
- Effectively communicate emergency weather information to the public in a clear, calm and concise manner.
- Remain familiar with current weather technology, equipment and industry changes.
- Work effectively with news management and newsroom personnel to develop content and production of newscasts.
- Work effectively with a team of studio personnel, including production techs, floor directors, and engineers.
- Act as ambassador for the station to foster public goodwill.
- Other duties as assigned.
A minimum of five years’ experience working as a weather anchor in a medium or large market preferred. Bachelor’s degree in meteorology, atmospheric science or related field preferred. Current or in process AMS Seal or NWS certification preferred. Severe weather forecasting experience a plus. Working knowledge of weather and newsroom computers. Ability to ad-lib effectively with news anchors. Good news judgment and knowledge of fair and accurate journalism practices. Excellent people, writing and communication skills; must be a team player.

The Multimedia & Commercial Producer will work with our Sales Team to create attention-grabbing commercials for clients on linear TV and streaming platforms. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following duties.

We’re looking for people with ideas beyond a typical promotional spot and who want to make short-form videos and digital franchises in addition to topicals and image spots. Must have a can-do attitude and enjoy problem-solving.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Conceive, pitch, write, produce, and edit engaging commercial spots.
- Produce client-sponsored promotional content.
- Successfully execute projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ensure that assigned projects are organized, executed, and delivered on schedule.
- Demonstrate responsibility for all equipment issued by FOX.

Education and Experience

Account Executive
Fox 13 KCPQ and Fox 13+ KZJO the Fox O&O in Seattle, WA has an opening for an Account Executive with an understanding of the local media landscape, sports, and cross-platform marketing in linear, digital, and sponsorship sales. The Account Executive will be responsible for growing existing business and developing new business to maximize client’s ROI and goals.
Snapshot of Responsibilities:
- Proactively maintain and grow an established list of agency buyers, planners, and direct clients.
- Drive new advertising revenue through direct sales across all media platforms.
- Oversee and steward all aspects of the account to ensure the schedule runs correctly, meets client’s KPIs and delivers successfully.
- Develop marketing solutions and presentations to key decision makers and buyers.
- Establish credible relationship with existing businesses and strong emphasis on developing new business.
- Makes virtual or in-person presentations to agency buyers and planners or local advertisers. Books orders and negotiates spot placement and rates based on the parameters for rate negotiations set by sales management and the advertiser parameters for each advertising campaign.
- Prepares quarterly sales revenue budget and target goal and is responsible for achieving budget and sales quotas established with management. Evaluates performance results against goals.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of selling experience at a media company and/or network, plus a strong overall knowledge of the sports marketplace and broadcast media industry.
- Experience in selling marketing partnerships with linear, OTT, and digital platforms.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate, negotiate and influence internal and external contacts.
- Ability to work independently and have a strong sense of accountability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain business relationships.
- Demonstrable knowledge of the local market, Wide Orbit, Nielsen and/or Comscore, qualitative research and available sales and research tools.
- Excellent business development skills, including but not limited to prospecting and cold-calling, lead qualification, handling objections, conceptual selling, client needs analysis, rate negotiation, closing and client relationship management.
- Must be a team player and stay dedicated to achieving results for the good of the organization.
